Tomato Burger Spaghetti Sauce

1  lb. lean ground beef
1  Tbsp. salad oil
1  large clove garlic, minced or pressed
1  small onion, chopped
2  Tbsp. chopped parsley
1  tsp. dried oregano leaves
1  tsp. salt
˝ tsp. fennel seeds
2  bay leaves
2  cans (8oz. each) tomato sauce
1  can (16oz.) stewed tomatoes
    Hot cooked spaghetti
    Grated with parmesan cheese

Tips: This sauce can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving. It also freezes well.

Select ground beef that is extra lean to avoid a lot of fat in the sauce.

Heat oil in heavy saucepan. Add garlic and onion and sauté for 2 minutes or until onion is tender but not browned.

Add ground beef and cook, stirring, until pinkness is gone and meat is crumbly. drain off fat.

Stir in parsley, basil oregano, salt, fennel seeds, bay leaves, tomato sauce and canned tomatoes, blend well. simmer 25 minutes.

Serve over hot cooked spaghetti  with sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.
